Terms of service

Last updated: 12 June 2026 · applies to crossfriend.xyz

1. What crossfriend is

crossfriend ("the service", "we") helps you find people you already know on one platform across the other platforms they have explicitly opted in to be found on. By using the service you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 or older to use crossfriend. Minors may not create accounts and are never discoverable through the service.

3. Your accounts

You may only link platform accounts that you own and control, by authenticating them or by selecting them from verified connections you control. You are responsible for complying with each linked platform's own terms of service. You may unlink any account, or erase your entire crossfriend account, at any time from your dashboard.

4. The consent model

Nothing about you is discoverable unless you create a grant saying so, and every grant is yours to revoke at any time. Where you require approval, each disclosure needs your explicit per-person yes. Blocks override everything else and are deliberately invisible to the person blocked. We enforce these rules in software; you agree not to try to get around them.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. Disclosure decisions made by other users (approving, declining, blocking) are theirs alone and final.

6. Availability and changes

The service is young and provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. Features may change, platform integrations may break when the platforms change their APIs, and we may suspend or discontinue the service. We will make reasonable efforts to give notice of material changes, and your data-deletion rights in the privacy policy survive any of this.

7. Third-party platforms

crossfriend is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Valve (Steam), Discord, X Corp., Epic Games, Bluesky, Mastodon gGmbH or any Mastodon instance, Microsoft (Xbox), Sony, Riot Games, Blizzard, or any other platform. Platform names and marks belong to their owners. Your use of each platform remains governed by that platform's own terms.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service, and our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us for the service (currently: nothing). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

9. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the new version will be posted here with an updated date, and material changes will be flagged on the dashboard. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms.

10. Contact and governing law

Questions: privacy@crossfriend.xyz. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
