How crossfriend works, and the privacy promises behind it.
- Does crossfriend see my password?
- No. You sign in through each platform's own official login (OAuth / OpenID), on that platform's site. crossfriend only receives the identity you approve — never your password.
- Who can find me?
- Only the people you allow, on the platforms you allow. You create grants that say who can discover you and where; nothing about you is shared until you do, and you can revoke any of it instantly.
- Do you store my friends list?
- No. crossfriend reads your connections live to find who has opted in, surfaces those matches, and discards the rest — the people who aren't matches are never stored.
- Which platforms are supported?
- Steam, Discord, Bluesky, X, Epic Games, GitHub, Mastodon and more. The Supported platforms page lists every one and how each can be used (find friends from, be discovered on, sign in directly, or connect via Discord).
- Can I go invisible or delete my data?
- Yes. You can pause discovery at any time (you stay linked but become undiscoverable), export everything crossfriend holds on you as JSON, or erase your account outright.
- How is this different from a contact-import or people-search tool?
- crossfriend is consent-first: it never scrapes, never uploads your contacts, and never uses full-account credentials. You're only ever shown someone once they've explicitly opted in to be discoverable — and they can opt out just as easily.
